Frequently Asked Pest Control Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from Baldwin County and Gulf Coast homeowners and businesses.

General service

What areas does Bed Bugs & Beyond serve?
We serve Baldwin County and Alabama's Gulf Coast from our office in Foley, Alabama. Foley is our only location — see Areas We Serve for the communities covered.
Do you treat both homes and businesses?
Yes. Residential and commercial properties are handled separately because access, scheduling and reporting needs differ.
Do I need a long-term contract?
No. No long-term contract is required, whether you book one-time service or recurring prevention.
Can I book one-time pest control?
Yes. One-time service is available for a defined problem, and recurring service is available where ongoing pressure warrants it.
How often should pest control be performed?
It depends on the pest. Recurring service is typically monthly or quarterly for pests that live outdoors and keep pushing back toward the structure; other problems can be resolved as a focused service.
How quickly can you get out to a property?
Scheduling is flexible and we work to get to urgent problems quickly. Call (251) 324-9090 and we will tell you the soonest realistic option.
What does the 30-day warranty mean?
Applicable service carries a 30-day warranty, subject to the service terms. If covered activity continues within that window, we come back out.

Identifying a pest

What if I do not know what pest I have?
That is normal, and you do not have to identify it yourself. Describe what you are seeing and where, and we will confirm the pest during inspection.
Can a photo help identify a pest?
Often yes. A clear, close photo of the insect, the damage or the droppings — with something for scale — helps considerably.
Should I keep a specimen?
If you can do it safely, yes. A specimen in a sealed bag or container is the most reliable way to separate look-alike species.
Where can I compare common Gulf Coast pests?
The Pest Library has identification profiles for pests found in Lower Alabama, including look-alikes that are frequently confused.

Home pest control

Is pest control compatible with homes with children and pets?
Products are applied according to label directions and required precautions, and we tell you what those precautions are for your home, including any re-entry or drying time.
Do I need to be home during service?
Not always for exterior service, but interior treatment requires access. We will tell you what the visit needs when it is scheduled.
Do I need to prepare before service?
For general pest service, very little. Bed bug treatment is different and has specific preparation requirements we go over before the appointment.
Do you service vacation homes and second homes?
Yes. Condos, beach houses and second homes are common here, and service can be coordinated around occupancy and rental turnover.

Commercial pest control

Do you provide commercial pest control?
Yes. We serve lodging, food service, retail, offices, warehouses, healthcare, apartments and managed properties.
Can you service multiple properties?
Yes. Multi-property scheduling across a portfolio is available, coordinated with the people who manage access.
Can service be scheduled around business hours or guest turnovers?
Yes. Scheduling is coordinated around operating hours, guest turnovers and vacancy windows.
Do you provide service documentation?
Yes. Documentation is provided after service for your property records, and a certificate of insurance is available on request where a property requires one.

Services we do not offer

Do you provide termite treatment?
No. We do not offer termite control. If we see evidence suggesting wood-destroying insects, we will tell you what we saw so you can arrange a licensed termite inspection.
Do you provide mosquito control?
No. Mosquito control is not a service we offer anywhere in our service area.
Do you provide heat treatment for bed bugs?
No. Bed bug treatment here is chemical treatment; heat treatment is not a service we offer. See Bed Bug Control for how treatment and follow-up work.
